This is the actual prop that I use when I present the electric man side show stunt. It is made up of 2 parts.
The first part is the generator, it is on top and has the cords coming out of it along with the switches. This converts normal 120 Volt AC power to DC power and it ramps it up to about 70,000 Volts.
The second part is the table with the yellow and black stripes. This plugs into the generator and while standing on it I am no lot grounded. This allows me to light up light bulbs, neon, and ignite torches off of my tongue among other fun demonstrations.
Below is the YouTube video that shows the prop being used out of context, instead of me standing on the table I just have an electrode running directly to my hip, and the prop is out of site.
And last is another video where we did this on the street with random strangers as participants who REALLY had no idea how this was being done.
